Larry Gene Armstrong, age 74, was born May 8, 1947 in Jacksboro, to Roy Guy Armstrong Sr. and Ruby Lee “Shorty” (Whitsitt) Armstrong.

He passed away Tuesday, April 26, in Jacksboro. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Jacksboro.

Larry married Cherry Jones on Jan. 29, 1971 and were together until her passing in 2016. Larry later married Margaret (Johnson) on Jan. 1, 2017 in Jacksboro.

He was a longtime member of the Memorial Christian Church and worked in the oil and gas industry for many years. Larry was also a member of the Fort Richardson Masonic Lodge #320 and a former Ag teacher at the Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Cherry (Jones) Armstrong; brother, Jimmy Ray “Bo Bo” Armstrong; and grandson, Zachary Gobe.

Larry will be truly missed by his wife, Margaret (Johnson) Armstrong; children, Dooby Fox and wife JoAnn, Luke Armstrong and wife Tonya, and Linny Read and husband Marvin; grandchildren, Bree Salazar, Ty Read, Mason Armstrong, Maylan Armstrong, Jacob Read, and Connie Josfefy; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Roy Guy Armstrong Jr.
