Feb. 1, 1996 – July 27, 2024

Landon Gage McAnear of Glen Rose, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 27 surrounded by his family. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Landon was born Feb. 1, 1996, in Fort Worth. After moving from Jacksboro in the early 2000’s, Landon attended Glen Rose and graduated from Glen Rose High School in 2018.

While in school, Landon loved his jobs of working in the copy room and stocking the concession stands, and of course, giving Ms. Pam and all of his teachers the run around. Landon also enjoyed going to all of the sporting events of his brother and sister and being the loudest in the crowd.

If you were there, you probably heard him shouting, “Fire that ball, win the game, and be done with it!” There is no doubt that all of the students probably heard him jamming out in the Red Gym performing karaoke to “Pour Some Sugar on Me.” Landon was filled with joy and laughter all of his life. He loved jamming out to music, specifically his favorite genres, 80’s Rock and Old Country.

He never turned down a chance to go on a road trip or play GRANDTHEFT AUTO on his Xbox. He loved going to work with his dad and was especially happy to go to Sonic to get a Coke Zero. Landon was loved by so many, both near and far, and made a huge impact on anyone who was around him.

His time on this earth was over too soon, but it brings comfort knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven and was greeted with open arms. He will be deeply missed by all of those who loved him.

He is survived by his father, Donnie McAnear and wife Kelli; mother, Julie McAnear; brother, Layne McAnear, wife, Hailey and daughter, Brooks; sister, Laiken Windham and husband, Ty; brothers, Hance, Hunter, and Hayes Burney; grandparents, Sam and Gaye Lowe, Bubba and Sylvia McAnear, and Sandy Pruett; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at the Glen Rose High School Auditorium. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose.

Services under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose.
