John Forrest Johnson passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, at his home in Mineral Wells. He was 65 years old. He was born on Sept. 8, 1956 in Alamogordo, N.M., to Charles and Francis Johnson.

John married Carolyn Hawkins on Sept. 23, 1974 in Big Spring. Together they raised three daughters. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God and worked many years in the oil and gas industry. John will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Milton and Ernest Johnson.

John is survived today by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Johnson; daughters Rene Payton and E.C. Smith, Sherri Johnson, and Robbie Dunn and husband Chad; grandchildren, John “Bubba” Johnson and wife Ranczy, Nikki Arthur and Jeremiah; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
