Jerry Weldon Dodson, 84, passed away Tuesday, May 17, in Springtown. Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23 at Jacksboro Church of Christ. Visitation were held in the activity building immediately following the service.

Jerry was born July 20, 1937, in Gladewater, Texas, to the late Jack and Ava Dodson.

Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Abilene Christian College. He was a member and former elder at Jacksboro Church of Christ. Jerry was a retired teacher and coach. He also served as a houseparent and Administrator at Medina Children’s Home for over seven years. He enjoyed golfing, camping and was a member of Cracker Town Sam’s Camping Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Randle; and brother, Jimmy Dodson. Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diana Dodson. He is also survived by his daughters, Denise Mask (Gary) of Fort Worth, Julie Gipson (Robert) of Springtown, and Nancy Hall (Steve) of Sugar Land. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian Gipson (Melissa), Jennifer Gann (Aaron), Carmen Smith (Justin), Brooke Mask and numerous nieces and nephews.
