James E. Florance was born June 17, 1935 in Jack County, Texas to James Daniel and Susie Marie (Bryarly) Florance. James passed away Thursday October 6, 2016 in Jacksboro, Texas at the age of 81 years.

James was a 1953 graduate of Jacksboro High School; served in the United States Coast Guard; was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church where he served on the advisory board for several years. He was a member of Fort Richardson Masonic Lodge #320 and he enjoyed fishing. He married Winona Dellene McCaghren July 10, 1954 at the First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro. He owned and operated Florance Paint and Body Shop in Jacksboro until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Kenneth and John Florance. 

Survivors include his wife Dellene Florance; two sons Kevin Florance and Paula; Keith Florance and Vicki Fowler all of Jacksboro; numerous nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Jacksboro.
