Homer Leon Welch, 86, was born on April 1, 1934 to Harley and Lizzie (Mayo) Welch in Lake Providence, La. He passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 in Arlington, Texas.

Homer married Paula Jane Lewis on Feb. 25, 1959 in Wichita Falls. They were married for 50 years until her passing on Aug. 21, 2008. They were blessed with a daughter Sheila. Homer owned and operated an excavating business, HW Excavating, in Arlington where he and Paula worked for over 40 years. Homer was a devout Christian and attended services regularly at the New York Avenue Church of Christ in Arlington and the Church of Christ in Jacksboro.

Homer is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and son in law Robert Schultz.

Those left behind to cherish his memory and miss him dearly are his daughter Sheila Welch Schultz; grandchildren Paula Estell Schultz and Aaron Schultz; sisters, Dora Mae Price and Annie Ruth Dartez of West Monroe, Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him beyond measure; as well as extended family members and friends.
