Gregory Alan Lewis, 54, of Jacksboro, was born Sept. 20, 1966 in Jacksboro to Elzie Gevern Lewis, Sr. and Lenora Ann Dillard Lewis. He passed away Monday, Aug. 9 in Wichita Falls.

Greg was a 1985 graduate of Jacksboro High School and a 1989 graduate of Tarleton State University. He married the love of his life and soulmate, Jenilynn Barefield, on July 25, 1992 at the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro.

He was the owner of GAL Horticulture Services in Jacksboro. Greg thoroughly enjoyed everything about the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, watching sunrises or sunsets, or working with cattle. He began mowing yards after school as a third grader, which sparked his love for horticulture. Transforming a property into something beautiful was his passion.

Greg was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 12. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro where he served his Lord as deacon, Sunday School teacher, youth sponsor, and in may other church ministries and community involvements. His faith, work ethic, and strong character were witnessed by all who knew Greg. He has left a wonderful legacy and will be dearly missed.

Among those who will forever cherish his memory are his wife Jenilynn and son Landon, of Jacksboro; siblings Gevern Lewis and wife Ronda, of Cundiff, Lynette Shelton and husband Ricky, of Longview, and Laurie Plaster, of Graham, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
