Evelyn Laverne (Cantrell) Patton, 84, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, in Graham. Laverne was born April 9, 1937 in Jack County to Theo and Christine (Reeves) Cantrell.

Laverne married R.W. “Dub” Patton in Jack County on June 30,1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro.

Laverne is preceded in death by her husband, R.W. “Dub” Patton and parents. She is survived by daughters: Janet Norvill and husband Duane, Carol Leach and husband Dale, and Susan Ayers and husband Gil; siblings, Kenneth Cantrell, Dale Cantrell, Marilyn Cook and Theda Grey; grandchildren: Shawn Leach, Megan Chapoy, Christopher Ayers, Tarrah Mitchell, Joshua Norvill, and Ashley Ayers, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. Funeral services began at 10 a.m. following the visitation. Graveside services followed at Lynn Creek Cemetery.
