Ethan Joe Langley

Ethan Joe Langley, 17, of Jacksboro, was born September 5, 2003 in Weatherford. He gained his wings on Wednesday, June 23 in Dallas.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 6 at the Jacksboro High School Gymnasium.

Ethan attended JHS where he was very active in Cheerleading and FCCLA. He was the first male cheerleader in Jacksboro High School’s history and has now paved a path for future male cheerleaders. Throughout his cheering career at JHS, Ethan won numerous group awards along with individual awards. They were the 2020 UIL Spirit State Champions and the 2021 UIL Spirit State Champion Runner-Ups. Most recently, Ethan attended the UCA Cheer Camp in Lubbock, where he and his team were UCA Camp Dance Champions, UCA Camp Cheer Champions, UCA Camp Game Day Champions, Pin it Forward Individual Leadership Recipient, and Team Leadership Winners. Ethan was also selected for All-American Cheerleader and was a UCA Staff Invitation Recipient.

He was also very active in FCCLA. He was the Vice President of Membership for the 2020-2021 school year and had been elected again for that position for the 2021-2022 school year.
In the short time here on earth, Ethan made a huge positive impact on many lives that will be cherished forever. To know him was to adore him. Ethan’s presence would turn any scenario in to the best one. With his contagious smile, charm, selflessness and drive, Ethan was truly a light in this world. He will be forever loved, missed and cherished by all those who loved and knew him

Among those that will cherish his memory include his parents, Jessica and Todd Besselaar; father, Nic Langley; siblings, Kyler, Kaylynn, Shelby, Priscilla, Hadley and Kolyn; 14 grandparents; and many other extended family members and many friends.
