Dr. Lendon Dale Dutton passed away on Feb. 21, 2021.

Lendon was born on Aug. 18, 1932, to Troy Dutton and Allie Mae Luckie Dutton in Hamilton. He grew up in Indian Gap and graduated from Pottsville High School. Lendon attended the University of Texas for two years and then attended the University of Texas Dental School in Houston. He graduated in 1956, with his doctorate in dentistry.

Upon graduation, he joined the Army and served two years as an army dentist and attained the rank of captain. Afterwards he opened a dental practice in Plano. His first year there he met Anne Carpenter and married her within a year. Lindy and Anne were married just shy of 61 years, when Anne passed away in June 2020.

Lendon and Anne moved their family to Jacksboro in 1973, and he retired from dentistry and took up ranching and investing. Lendon served on the Jacksboro School Board for 9 years, several of those years as president of the board. He and Anne spent years serving as boosters to the Jacksboro Band as well. He dedicated his time to his town and community and most of all his family.

Lendon is survived by his three children Jeff Dutton, wife Melissa, D’Anne KinCannon, Lenda Davidson, husband Corey, and grandchildren Justin Davidson, Ande Davidson Ryckman, husband Jacob, Lendon Dutton, wife Savannah, and Ali Dutton. He is also survived by his brother Uriel Dutton, and his children.

The Dutton family is regrettably postponing Lendon and Anne Dutton’s Celebration of Life Ceremony, previously scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25, due to the rise in coronavirus cases. At this time, we feel that it would be best not to have a gathering. We appreciate everyone who has planned on attending and will make a notification as soon as we are able to reschedule. We look forward to visiting and sharing memories of this remarkable couple as soon as possible.
