David Kevin Ricks passed away Monday, Feb. 21, at his home in Jacksboro. He was 63 years old. David was born April 23, 1958, in Pampa, Texas to Bill Murray Ricks and Sharon (Hill).

A “Come and Go” celebration of life for David was held at the Halliburton Building in Jacksboro from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.

David married the love of his life Mary Ellen Plaster on Sept. 19, 1975, in Jacksboro. Together they raised their two sons, David “Brady” Ricks and William Robert “Bobby” Ricks in Jacksboro. He was a member of the Cundiff Baptist Church and worked in the oilfield most of his adult life. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.

David is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived today by his wife, Mary Ricks of Jacksboro; sons, Brady Ricks and wife Kourtney of Jacksboro, and Bobby Ricks and wife Dana of Perrin; five grandchildren; siblings, Mary Kay Sweetin of Pittsburg, Okla., Joe Dale Ricks of Kiowa, Okla., and Todd Lee Ricks of Midland; along with many extended family and friends.
