Clauda Mae Castle, 93, of Shannon, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta. Burial will be in the Shannon Cemetery in Shannon, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Clauda was born Aug. 17, 1929 in Prospect, to C.R. ”Babe” and Gertie (Sexton) Garner. She attended the Joy and Midway schools before attending St. Paul School of Nursing in Dallas. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at Clay County Memorial Hospital and ended at Jack County/ Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro where she was employed for over 30 years. Clauda married M.E. “Hap” Castle in 1950 and together they were members of the ranching community of South Clay County. She was very active in the annual Old Joy School reunion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, “Hap”; daughter-inlaws, Brenda and Carla; and great-grandchildren, Bayleigh and Hayden.

Survivors include three sons, Morris Castle and wife Jolene, Kirby Castle and wife Christine, and Mike Castle; daughter, Sarah Castle Johnson; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 at Davis Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Wichita Falls for all of their outpouring of love and care during this di_cult time.
