Charles Thomas Oliver

Charles Thomas Oliver, of Jacksboro, Texas, passed away in Jacksboro Saturday, February 18, 2017. He was 83 years old.

He was born on February 24, 1933 in Archer County, Texas to Frank and Mildred (Ward) Shook.

Charles married Delores Shook November 3, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was retired from owning and working a gas station and convenience store. He was also a former mayor of Scotland, Texas as well as serving on the Scotland City Council. Charles was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church but most importantly an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Oliver.

Among those who will cherish he memories include his wife Delores “Dee” Oliver; children Teresa Martin and husband Pat of Archer City, Greg Oliver and wife Sonja of Wichita Falls, and Laney Oliver of Wichita Falls; siblings Gary Oliver and wife Louise, Peggy Ash, Nell Burks and husband Bruce, Keith Oliver and wife Kim; grandchildren Kristi, Patrick, Micki and Brett; 4 great-grandchildren Kaylee, Mason, Piper, Preston, and one on the way come June; and many other extended family members and friends.

Services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro with burial following in Antelope Cemetery under the direction of Coker Funeral Home.
