Kay Freeman – Cecilia Kay Porter Freeman, 79, wife of Sidney “Sid” Dean Freeman, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.

Born in Jacksboro, TX, she was a daughter of the late Carroll (Rusty) and Lois Porter. Kay was a speech language pathologist for over 50 years serving the public schools, medical organizations, and private practice. She was a Sunday School teacher, church hostess and faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for 50 plus years.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by son, Brady Freeman and wife, Shannon of Williamston; daughter, Stephanie Lackey and husband, David of Williamston; brother-in-laws, Joe

Robinson of Houston. Larry Freeman and wife, Ann, Danny Freeman and wife, Sally; sister-in-law, Pat Porter of North Richland Hills; her beloved grandchildren, Sydney (25), Cecilia (22), Abbey Anne (21) John Bryson (18), and Nellie (17).

She was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Porter Robinson and brother, Charles Grant Porter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund, 101 Pisgah Road, Easley, SC 29642.

Due to the current health situation in our area, the family will host a graveside service at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29. The service will be available via livestream from the church parking lot.

There are plans to celebrate her life on June 19, 2021. The family will be at the Lackeys residence in Williamston.
