Carvel Herman Morrow

Carvel Herman Morrow passed away peacefully at his home in Wizard Wells, TX on March 19 th , 2021 at the age of 83. He was born in Wizard Wells on February 12, 1938 to Clifford “Preach” Herman and Lillie Octava (Ramzy) Morrow.

Carvel graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1956. He married the love of his life Peggy Jean (Auld) Morrow on September 11, 1964 in Jacksboro. As he would say, he “cowboyed” for 12 years at the Yates Ranch and then retired after 32 years from Lonestar Gas as a Pipeline Operator. Carvel always had a smile on his face and would make sure everyone else had one also. He loved spending time with family, taking care of his animals, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, and helping out friends and family. He was a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church of Wizard Wells. Carvel touched many lives and was loved by all who met him.

Carvel is survived by his children, James Morrow and Shelly (Morrow) Harris; his grandchildren, Christopher Harris and fiancée Kelbi Abke, Megan (Harris) Haverkamp and husband Dillon Haverkamp; and many other beloved family and friends.

He is preceded in death by wife, Peggy Morrow; parents, Preach and Lillie Morrow; brother, Clifford Morrow; and a sister, Sylvia Simms. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him and was touched by him.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksboro. Burial followed at Wizard Wells Cemetery.
