Betty Fry Gatlin

Betty Fry Gatlin went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Waco, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church with the funeral services following at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas.

Betty was born on March 29, 1933 in Shannon, Texas to William Alfred Tarpley and Ivey (Duncan) Tarpley. She married Mack Fry on July 21, 1948. Mack passed away on June 26, 1989. A few years later, Betty married C.E. Gatlin on May 12, 1992. They were married until his death on November 8, 2001. Betty was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jacksboro, Texas. She was school teacher in Jacksboro for many years before her retirement.  

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mack Fry; husband, C.E. Gatlin; son, Mickey Lee Fry; grandson, Kirby Whitaker; sisters, Patsy Fowler and Joanne Conley.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Sandra Moody of Fort Worth; stepson, Charles Gatlin of Mineral Wells and his children, Amanda and Aaron; sister, Elva Lee Wells of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Misty Williams and Chad Whitaker and wife Kim Browning; great grandchildren, Wesley Whitaker, Kaylie Whitaker, Justin Whitaker, Karis Whitaker, Malik Williams, Miriam Williams, Madux Williams, Laityn Whitaker, and Danny Mack Whitaker and wife Chelsey.
