Unofficial election results are in as primary elections close in Jack County Tuesday, March 3, with totals for local candidates in contested races for Commissioner Precinct 2 and 271st Judicial District Judge.
The race for the commissioner’s seat in precinct 2 was contested as Commissioner Amy Salazar chose not to run for election after being appointed to her seat last year. In the running was Ronald Fitzgerald, who received 54.89% of the vote, along with Bob Ricks and Mandy Estes Horn.
The race for district judge was also contested as Judge Brock Smith chose not to seek re-election. Andrew Lloyd came out on top over Paul Belew with 53.59% of the vote.
Local unofficial election results are listed below. Results are for the Republican primary as no candidates filed for the Democratic Party primary election other than John Barry, IV, who retained his seat as Democratic Party County Chair as he ran uncontested.
A total of 1,642 of 5,813 (28.25%) registered voters in Jack County participated in the primary elections.
Results remain unofficial until canvassed.
