TNT Fest returns with tournaments and tunes to the downtown square later this month, continuing the tradition of welcoming in the summer with live entertainment, food, shopping and more—all capped off by the annual fireworks display.

The event runs from 11 a.m. until dark Saturday, June 27 around the Jack County Courthouse square in Jacksboro.

The celebration begins Friday night at the lake with the barbecue cookoff sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society.

Entrants will compete for an 85% payout for the top three places in chicken, brisket and pork spareribs, Dutch oven desserts and beans. Winners will be announced Saturday afternoon on the downtown stage.

A special addition to the festivities this year is the inclusion of the Main Street Classic Car Show on West Archer Street.

Originally set for May, the annual car show sponsored by the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce was rescheduled due to inclement weather. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Downtown activities will include a corn hole tournament, sand pit volleyball, tug-of-war competition, water-filled bounce houses for the kids and more.

The Beautiful Baby contest kicks off at 6 p.m. followed by live musical entertainment from Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos from 7-9 p.m.

The evening will close with a fireworks display at the lake, visible from the downtown square.

The city mailed letters to residents in the surrounding area to remind them of the display and that city crews will clean up any debris the following Monday.
