TNT Fest to feature new activities

Two new activities will be available for TNT Fest, set for Saturday, June 25.

During an update meeting Friday, it was announced a “non-motorized” parade will he held around 6 p.m. near the lake. The theme is “Red, White, and Blue”. For those who need to decorate their bikes, a decoration station will take place from 5 to 6 p.m.

The event is for all ages and includes bicycles, wagons and all non-motorized vehicles.

The other event is also closer to the lake near the fireworks show. A kids safety program will run from 5 to 7 p.m. A number of groups will be showing how to be safe on bicycles, boats and other vehicles. Free bike helmets will be passed out as will free life jackets for children.

The Brazos River Authority will be displaying their large rescue boat for everyone to see as well.

An update on a number of things was given. Coordinator Leslie Jackson said a map is being worked on presently and will be available soon. The number of vendors is now up to 18 with 14 being food variety. Jackson said some crowd favorites will be there including the upside down lemonade truck and the nut job who brings fresh candy coated nuts of all kinds with him.

The event is highlighted by the annual fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
