JP Spurlock resigns

Justice of the Peace Stacy Spurlock, who lost her re election bid in March, has resigned effective Friday, Sept. 30.

Jack County Judge Keith Umphress said he will handle all magistration duties until incoming Justice of the Peace Jessica Bailey can get up to speed. Bailey will be sworn in during the Commissioner’s Court meeting Oct. 12.

In her resignation letter, Spurlock said she has been a county employee and public servant for 28 years and four months in several different counties.

“It has been a great honor to serve the citizens of Jack County,” Spurlock stated.
