Jacksboro High School’s girls’ cross country season will continue next week as the Tigerettes finished third in District 7-3A at the district meet Oct. 10.
The girls will run Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. The top three teams and 10 individuals qualify for Regionals.
Sophomore Brailyn Tullous led the varsity Tigerettes with an 8th place finish in 13:02.63. Judit Herrera was 11th in 13:25.62 with Kennedy Lowther’s time of 13:50.24 good enough for 13th and freshman Madison Collins time of 14:18.73 finishing 17th. All four were personal records.
Michelle Barron was 26th in 14:56.37. Jocelyn Santillana finished 27th in 14:56.76 with Dylann Nichols 36th in 15:04.74.
The JV boys were led by Angel Aldava’s 4th place finish in 22:29.70. Kaden Vaughn was 6th in 23:23.39 followed by Alexis Espinoza in 8th with a time of 25:53.98.
The future is bright as well as both JMS teams finished second at the district meet Oct. 8. The girls were led by Rylee Bennett who finished 5th in 13:42.74. She was followed by Starr Wesson in 12th with a 14:18.67 time.
Wesson led a foursome of Tigerettes who finished right behind in 13-15. Allin Aldava, Kylie Johnson and Holly Lehman had times of 14:23.57, 14:26.67 and 14:40.90, respectively. Lainey Cornish was 20th in 14:52.93 while Allison Santillana was 28th in 15:58.28.
On the boys side, Paden Seaberry was first with a 12:07.6 time with Damian Salazar 8th in 12:50.8. In 10th place was Travis Mitchell’s in 12:53.8. Jacob Ingram was 13th with a 13:20.2 time followed by Hoyt Wesson’s 15th in 13:47.5, Christian Wampler’s 17th place finish in 14:06.9 and Brody Vaughn’s 21st place finish in 14:28.6.
Right behind Vaughn was Cory Rodriguez in 14:37 flat. Levi Gavitt was 24th in 14:54.5 and Gabriel Garza was 30th with a time of 16:00.5.
