Wed, 05/25/2022 - 12:00 am

At approximately 4:13 a.m. Monday, May 9, Jacksboro Police Department officer Clayton Morris was dispatched to First State Bank in Jacksboro on a suspicious vehicle call. Communications personnel advised that a Faith Community Hospital Medic Crew had observed a Toyota Tacoma pickup with a chain hanging from the rear bumper. The truck was observed backed up to the ATM and was leaving First State Bank, traveling south on North Main Street at a high rate of speed. After a short vehicle pursuit, Officer Morris arrested Kenneth Taylor Harbert, 31, of Fort Worth. Harbert was subsequently charged with Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, a state jail felony and Criminal Attempt Theft of Property, less than $300,000 ATM, a third degree felony. The bank thanked everyone for working together in such a professional and fast manner by providing gift certificates and gift cards to those involved. Contributed photo
