County to host online auction

Jack County will have an online auction May 23-June 6. Equipment and vehicles will be sold during that time. Electronic online auction will be held by Renee Bates Auctioneers. Items to be sold can be found on www.jackcounty.org.

Commissioners were also asked to provide County Auditor Lisa Perry with a inventory list and description of items in each precinct barn.

In other news:

A list of 27 people from the county were asked to serve on the tornado long term recovery committee. They are asked to plan what the next two to four years will look like in the area. Jack County Judge Keith Umphress said if those of 27, if a board of 10, maybe 12 of those to serve, that would be great.

“They will have the vision, the oversight to determine what the future will look like in Jack County,” Umphress explained.

Small Business Administration officials began working with the public on low interest loans for homeowners and business owners. Business owners can apply for up to $2 million with homeowners eligible for up to $240,000. Loan rates range from 1.5 % up to 3 %

Jacksboro City Manager Mike Smith said discussion on repairing the Jack County Sheriff’s Posse Arena has started, but is still in the early stages.
