Bryson graduates its Class of 2022

Wed, 05/25/2022 - 12:00 am

BRYSON – It doesn’t take long to change your life. In Windsor Godfrey’s case, it was 730 days.

Bryson High School’s salutatorian spoke, during the commencement ceremony Friday, of how FFA sponsor Jesse Laine and the organization changed her life. Godfrey, who had 730 days on her mortar board, said Laine and her time in FFA made her a more responsible person.

She took such a love for FFA, she became a chapter and area officer. She also thanked her teachers and dedicated individuals for their influence on not only her but the whole class.

During the ceremony, a number of scholarships were handed out to class members.

In her address, Valedictorian Lexi Stearns said the graduates were more than that, they were the future mechanics and teachers of the world. Fighting through COVID, which disrupted both sophomore and junior year, prepared them for their senior year.

She said graduates should not make hard and fast decisions right now on their future and allow themselves to make changes and do with them the best they can. In closing, she told the audience her class will do amazing things in the future.

Keynote speaker JR Stearns said learning doesn’t stop even though they are out of the classroom.

“You need to be learning every day,” Stearns, class sponsor of the Class of 2022, said. “I am so proud of all of you.”
