City of Bryson will hold a town hall meeting starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Senior Citizens Center, located at 201 College Street in Bryson.
Residents are invited to attend the public meeting to discuss current issues including street and road conditions, animal control, water quality, property inspections and funding for the sewer system package plant.
Another topic up for discussion was the management and maintenance of city parks. With grants available to help replace aging playground equipment, the city council considered forming a committee of volunteers to oversee the city’s parks and recreation.
Topics will not be limited to a set agenda, however, and those in attendance may bring up additional concerns.
Bryson Mayor Luticia Ford said it was important residents understood the challenges faced by the city, and hoped the meeting would be informative for everyone.
“We need people to understand that the sewer has to be our main priority,” Ford said. “And we want them to know we are working on the streets, but Public Works has to split time to work on other things, especially if there’s a water break or another emergency somewhere.”
While a quorum of Bryson City Council members may be in attendance, no action will be taken during the meeting.
“This is the time to come talk to us—to talk about these issues and what it’ll take to get it fixed,” Ford said.
