Library to kick-off Summer Reading Program: On your mark, get set…READ

School is officially out, but reading is still alive and in at the Gladys Johnson Ritchie Public Library.  Those children between 4 and 12 are urged to keep reading skills up. There are lots of prizes for those who join us in this summer’s fun-filled activities and reading.  So, ON YOUR MARK, GET SET….come to the kick-off beginninat at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3.  A movie will be shown complete with popcorn for those wishing to sign-up for summer reading. Programs will be at 10 a.m. each Tuesday in June beginning June 7. The library will offer craft days at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays in July beginning July 5.  All supplies will be provided.  Every Friday in June and July at 10 a.m. will be movie day with a snack.  All ages are welcome to the movie, but pre-school children must be accompanied by a parent.

In order to finish all children’s summer activities at the library before noon, our summer hours will change slightly. With summer reading programs on Tuesdays in June, crafts on Tuesdays in July, and movies every Friday in both June and July, library hours will change on those days to allow children to arrive and be ready to participate at 10 a.m. Library summer hours will be:

Monday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Tuesday 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Wednesday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
