Roy Calvin Rhoades, age 82, passed away Sept. 1, in Fort Worth. He was born Aug. 27, 1940, in Vashti, to Roy Rhoades and Ava Faye (Campsey) Rhoades. A visitation was held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro. Funeral service were at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Coker Funeral Home. Burial followed at Hicks Cemetery. Roy married Velda King on July 14, 1962, in Decatur. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayland Paul Rhoades; brother, Loyd Delton Rhoades and sister, Eva Fox.

Roy is survived by his wife, Velda; children, Ronald (Trapper) Rhoades and wife Debbie of Mingus, Gene Rhoades and wife Julie of Decatur, and Denise Stevens and husband Roy of Poolville; nine grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
