Mable Emogene Nanson passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 in Decatur, Texas. She was 86 years old.

She was born on May 21, 1929 to William Eugene “W. E.” and Nora Mildred (Keeter) Bruton in Elbert, Texas (Throckmorton County)

Emogene graduated from Throckmorton High School. She married the late Frank Pickens Nanson on March 1, 1968 in Oklahoma. She lived in Perrin, Texas for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church there. She loved to bake for her family and also had a wedding cake business of her own. Most importantly, she loved her family, working many times 3 jobs at one time to provide for them.

Emogene is preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank Nanson; son Eddie Gober; sister Marie Castleberry; brother Weldon Bruton and two great-grandchildren Melody Skye Cortez and Donaven Jack Gober.

Among those who will cherish her sweet memory include her children Brenda Reeves and husband Bobby of Olney, son Larry Gober and wife Laura of Stephenville; sister Cora Lee Howard and husband Dave of Paradise; three grandchildren she raised Renae Prestridge, Cindy Berry and Trey Prestridge; other grandchildren include Summer Gober, Heather Nance, Amanda Gober, Shelby Gober, Shanel Otts and Jacqueline Gober; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other extended family members and friends.

Services were Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Perrin with burial following in Keeter Cemetery in Elbert, Texas (Throckmorton County).
