Jacksboro’s girls basketball squad used a stellar second-half defensive performance to pull away from host Poolville and posted a 52-22 win Tuesday, Dec. 3.
The Tigerettes are now 5-2 and won their third straight game.
Jacksboro’s defense was solid throughout, but the squad needed some time to take its first lead, doing so on a Hayden Walker basket and free throw for a 10-7 lead midway through the first quarter.
Jacksboro and Windthorst needed two overtimes to settle an issue on the basketball court but the Tigerettes broke things open to post a 49-45 victory Tuesday, Nov. 26.
The visitors are now 4-2 for the season. Jacksboro coach Charla Valenzuela said her squad came through.
“We didn’t play as a whole real well,” Valenzuela said. “It wasn’t pretty but we played well enough to win.”
After a slow start by Perrin to open the season, the Lady Pirates have won four of their last five games including a 35-20 victory over Henrietta’s JV.
The squad is now 4-3 but could easily be 7-0, according to Perrin coach Jason Morales.
