Bryson boys make history in win over Bellevue

Thirty-two years is a long time to go between playoff wins.

Bryson had done just that, their last basketball playoff win coming in 1993. That was before the Cowboys held off a furious comeback threat Tuesday, Feb. 18 by Bellevue and defeated the Eagles, 54-47 in a Class A Division II bi-district matchup.

Bryson Coach Mark McCorkle, who saw his Cowboys up their record to 25-4 for the season, said sometimes it helps to be more lucky than good.

Perrin boys roll into area

Perrin wasted little time in taking control after allowing Saint Jo an early 2-0 lead in their Class A Division I bi-district matchup.

The Pirates scored the next 19 points and never let the Panthers back in the game in a 75-38 win Monday, Feb. 17. Perrin will face Union Hill in Blue Ridge at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20. Coach Todd McCormick said the big run after a slow start was key.
