A back-and-forth game Tuesday, Nov. 19 between Jacksboro and visiting Eastland saw clutch free throw shooting by Eastland late, lifting the Lady Mavs to a 47-41 win.

Eastland shot 7-of-9 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter and took advantage of the Tigerettes going through a cold shooting snap.

Jacksboro used a Hayden Walker three-point play to take a 35-34 lead with 6:56 to go. The Tigerettes then missed 12 straight shots from the field. Eastland converted four straight from the charity stripe and a 3-pointer to take the lead for good. Jacksboro got within three points late on a Brailyn Tullous 3-pointer but no closer as the Tigerettes lost their second straight game to fall to 2-2 for the season.

The game was nip-and-tuck throughout. Walker and Tullous contributed five points each early to give Jacksboro an 11-4 lead. The Lady Mavs closed, however, on an 8-0 run for a 12-11 lead after one.

Eastland led by six early in the second before a Rylee Bennett 3-pointer snapped the 13-0 run. A Walker basket and Bennett free throw tied the game at 17-17. Baskets by Kennedy Lowther and Tullous late enabled the Tigerettes to stay tied at 21 at halftime.

Eastland jumped out to a seven-point lead in the third quarter but missed its last six shots from the field. A pair of Walker 3-pointers brought Jacksboro back within two, 34-32, but the Tigerettes went cold shooting in the fourth quarter and eventually lost.

Walker had 21 points to lead Jacksboro with Tullous adding 13.

Jacksboro will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Windthorst.
