Jack County cross country teams competed in their respective district meets this week, with two of the three schools sending runners to the upcoming regional meet.
Jacksboro competed Monday, Oct. 7 in the District 7-3A Cross Country Meet in Burkburnett, while both Perrin and Bryson competed Wednesday, Oct. 9 in the District 17-1A Championships in Perrin.

Perrin’s varsity Pirates finished 3rd overall, sending their team to the regional meet along with freshman runner Mckieran Murphy, who finished 4th for the varsity Lady Pirates.

Bryson’s varsity Cowboys and Cowgirls will each send one runner to the regional meet, with Joslyn Whitfill finishing in 2nd place and Ty McComack finishing in 4th place. The Cowboys finished in last place as a team.

Bryson and Perrin runners will compete Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the 2024 UIL Region III 1A Cross Country Championships. The meet will be held at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie, with 1A girls starting at noon, and 1A boys following at 12:30 p.m.
