Varsity SB falls to Boyd, 16-6
When a good pitcher has a devastating bat, it can mean double trouble for an opponent.
Such is the case of Boyd’s Kristin Rasbury, who had three home runs as part of four extra base hits and batted in 10 runs Friday night in a 16-6, six-inning victory over Jacksboro at Tigerette Field. Jacksboro drops to 5-11 and 0-2 in District 8-3A with Boyd going to 1-1.
The Lady ‘Jackets used a Rasbury homer, two hits and two errors to lead 4-0. Jacksboro used singles by Maylan Armstrong, Hanah Drennan and Leah Plaster to get on the board in the bottom of the first before leaving the bases loaded on a groundout.
A three-run second, all brought in by a Rasbury homer, and two-run third, courtesy of a Rasbury double, helped the visitors extend the lead to eight. Drennan’s solo home run put the Tigerettes back on the board in the third. Destiny Thompson’s single was stranded as an infield groundout prevented further damage.
