Tigers prepare for district

In life, the king of the hill doesn’t change until they are knocked off.

Henrietta has been at the top of the District 8-3A heap for a couple of years now. The charge to knock them off begins this evening when Jacksboro heads to Bearcat Stadium for the loop opener for both teams. Both squads have had good non-district slates, the Tigers going 5-0 with Henrietta going 4-1, losing only to Childress.

Jacksboro Coach Brannon Rodgers says the Bearcats have put together another good squad in 2017.

“They’ve got a good team this year,” Rodgers said. “Everyone wants to get the district-opening win and I’m sure they’ll be coming after us like we will for them to get some early positioning.”

The Tigers have gotten off to one of their best starts in decades in Rodgers’ first year at the helm, trying a lot of different things with different personnel to try and get players in the right position.
