Tigerettes remain unbeaten
MILLSAP – Jacksboro shot 41 percent from the floor Friday night here and held the host Lady Bulldogs to just 24 percent in staying unbeaten in District 7-3A with a 43-26 win.
The Tigerettes (2-0 and 11-6) and Lady ‘Dogs (0-2 and 7-10) each needed time to get its offense going in every quarter. Senior Brittany Schnabel doing the job for Millsap to give the squad a 2-0 lead, which would prove to be the hostesses’ only lead.
A pair of Leah Plaster buckets put the Tigerettes up for good midway through the first. Plaster would get plenty of offensive help in the forms of senior Jordan Nichols and junior Baylee Thompson who combined for 27 Tigerette points.
Schnabel had 16 points, as did Thompson, but received very little support. Thompson and Nichols would unite to break a 4-all tie late in the first, helping Jacksboro close the frame on an 8-0 run for a 12-4 advantage after one.
