Softball team competes in Wichita Falls
WICHITA FALLS – Jacksboro’s varsity softballers went 2-4 in the annual Sunrise Optimist Tournament here last weekend.
The Tigerettes (8-7) played a pair of games Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in their pool. The squad opened with an 11-0 loss to eventual division co-champ Vernon, which scored all of its runs in the first three innings and took advantage of 10 Jacksboro errors.
The squad rebounded in game two Thursday with a 7-1 win over Wichita Falls High. The Purple pounded out 13 hits in the six-inning contest. Junior Trinity Tisdale and freshman Alex Holman had three hits each with Hadlee Richardson coming through with two hits.
Holman led the charge with four RBIs with Carly Hart adding two RBIs and Hanah Drennan one. Drennan got the win in the circle, allowing three hits and coming through with six strikeouts.
