JMS Tigers swept by Paradise
Jacksboro Middle School’s boys basketball team were swept by Paradise Jan. 28.
The Tiger White team suffered a 42-5 loss. Paradise led 20-3 at the half and pulled away. Jackson Ward had two points for the Tigers.
The Tiger Purple team suffered a 21-8 setback after being down 10-4 at the half. Ramiro Bustos had five points for Jacksboro.
The 7 ‘A’ squad suffered a 46-17 loss. Paradise led 12-3 after one with Lando Belcher having the Jacksboro points. Belcher added both second quarter tallies as Paradise extended its lead to 19-5 at the half.
Kasey Ray Swan’s three-pointer was the only points for the Tigers in the third. Paradise nearly doubled its offensive production of the first half with an 18-point frame to lead 37-8 heading into the fourth.
Edwin Esqueda’s four points, Peyton Kinman’s three and Jett Davenport’s bucket helped Jacksboro with its biggest quarter of the game offensively but it was too little too late.
The 8 ‘A’ squad lost 47-16. Paradise led 13-4 after one with Julian Chacon and Christian Mott each scoring two points. The Panthers extended the lead to 27-8 at the half with Tommie Riviers. Paul Shackelford had the lone point for the jacksboro in the third with the Panthers extending the lead to 40-9.
Each team scored seven points in the fourth with Shackelford adding three points with Mott and Ryder Jackson two each.
Shackelford, Mott, and Riviers each had four points.
