JHS golfers take top District 8-3A honors

BURKBURNETT – Jacksboro’s boys and girls golf teams swept past their District 8-3A foes to take top honors at the district meet here Wednesday afternoon.

The boys posted a team score of 345, 17 strokes better than runner-up Holliday. Dalton Harp led the charge with an 84, good enough for third-place medalist. Ethan Sanchez and Brady Burnett finished right behind with rounds of 85 and 86, respectively with Reno Rollans firing a 90. Hunter Hackley had a 106 but the low four rounds comprise a team score.

On the girls' side, the Tigerettes shot a 381, 40 strokes better than Holliday in second place. Jordan Nichols led Jacksboro with a round of 89, also a 3rd-place medalist. Rylee Staley shot a 93, Carli Smith a 99, Harlie Hackley a 100 and Haley Milam a 103 for the Purple.

The squads move on to regionals April 23-26 in Baird.
