Bryson summer FB wins in Covington
COVINGTON – While still early to be making any assumptions or predictions, Bryson has reason to feel pretty good about itself after going unbeaten in a six-man summer tournament Saturday here.
The Cowboys, ranked No.9 in Class A by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, went 6-0 here. The squad let no team get within two touchdowns of them in a final all day. The Cowboys opened with a 34-14 win over Arlington Christian School. Bryson scored quickly and got some defensive help as Tanner Buchanan came up with an interception on Arlington’s first play.
On the ensuing Bryson play, Ethan Robinson came up with a touchdown reception from Braeden Houser for a 14-0 lead. Arlington drew within 14-6 but an interception by Paul Davidson set up a TD reception from the senior to put the ‘Pokes up 21-6.
Arlington would not go away, scoring on the next drive and adding a two-point conversion to draw within 21-14. From there is was all Bryson to end the 20-minute game. A Davidson touchdown reception set up by a reception from Tristan Stephens put the squad up 28-14.
