Bryson girls soak Chico

BRYSON – With a healthy Cowgirl volleyball team hitting its stride right now after some early season injuries, it makes those early district losses seem so long ago.

One of the two setbacks was to Poolville in the district opener Sept. 8, which was avenged late last month. The other was to Chico, a five-game epic more than a month ago.  Primed to avenge the loss to the other Class 2A school in the district, Bryson came out on Senior Day Saturday and took care of business with a 25-11, 12-25, 25-22, 25-22 win over the visiting Lady Dragons.

Bryson Coach Chelsea Kincaid said having those early season injuries to senior hitter Sydney Davidson and others helped the team get better as a whole.

“During the first round of district, we were coming off injury and learning how to deal with some of the side effects of those injuries,” Kincaid said following the 90-minute match. “We hadn’t found our rotation at that point and now we have found it and we are rolling.”

Bryson has not lost since the first meeting with Chico more than a month ago.
