Bryson falls to Milford
HICO – Bryson fell in a deep first quarter hole to No.3 Milford Saturday here but a furious fourth quarter rally fell just short in a 51-50 loss to the Bulldogs.
The Cowboys, who were preseason No.9 in Class A needed some time to get their offense clicking, down 16-0 after one. Milford extended its lead to 35-8 at the half before Bryson came along, each team scoring 15 points in the third before the Cowboys posted a defensive shutout in the fourth quarter only to fall one point short.
Coach Jason Briles said missed extra points cost the squad along with defensive lapses which allowed Milford to score three easy touchdowns that “never should have happened.”
Quarterback Braden Houser was 19-33 in the air for 315 yards and four touchdowns.
