Bryson baseball opens season

SAINT JO – Bryson opened its baseball season by going 1-2 in a tournament here last weekend.

The boys opened with a 10-3 win over the hosts. The Cowboys scored one in the first and three in the second before adding two more in the fourth and four in the fifth. 

Ethan Robinson and Paxton Whitaker combined for five strikeouts on the hill with Robinson garnering the victory.

Jon Alaniz was 4-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Tristan Stephens was 3-3 with Braden Houser going 2-3 with two RBIs. Stephens, Josh Jonas, Taylor Tyson and Robinson each scored twice for the ‘Pokes.

The squad then lost to Savoy 12-3 later on Thursday. Harley Hammond was 3-3 at the plate with two of the three RBIs in the last of the fifth. Houser had the other RBI. Houser, Jacob Smith and Whitaker all saw mound time for Bryson.
