Perrin SB knocks Cowgirls out of first place saddle

PERRIN – Adversity can only make you stronger, the book of adages says.

Locked in a battle for softball supremacy in District 11-2A Tuesday, Bryson and the host Lady Pirates both overcame adversity, rebounding from deficits. It was Perrin, however, that had the last laugh with a two-run sixth inning that held up in an 8-6 win.

The Cowgirls drop to 4-1 and 9-6 overall with Perrin now at 4-0 and 9-8. Lady Pirate Coach Ben Staggs said he was impressed with the way his squad continued to fight throughout the 2:06 affair.

“We got down 2-0 early and I sensed they were getting down on themselves a bit, so I made them admit their mistakes and told them to forget about them,” Staggs said. “I liked the way they were accountable for their errors and wanted to right their ways.”
