Jack County coaches talk new districts
Coaches have had a week to look at their newly realigned districts and all three Jack County schools appear to be happy with, if not somewhat surprised by their realignments.
Jacksboro Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Brannon Rodgers said the football district, which includes newcomers Comanche, Dublin, Rio Vista, Tolar and returnee Millsap is a “good group with a lot of new faces and new people.” Rodgers said he knows some of the coaches in the new district through previous dealings.
He said Comanche had a solid year in 2017, going 12-2 in Division I. The Indians will reportedly be losing a bunch, however. Much of the district, except Millsap, remains a question mark.
The “everything else” district includes former district mates Paradise, Millsap and Boyd along with Brock, Peaster, Breckenridge, and Tolar. Rodgers said the district goes from being “tough to being very tough.”
