Jimmy Carl “J.C.” May
Jimmy Carl “J.C.” May passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the age of 76. He was born February 26, 1944 in Willard, New Mexico. J.C. served in the National Guard, and was a mechanic for many years, retiring from the City of Jacksboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lois Smith, R.C. May and granddaughter Shelby Lang.
Loved by many, J.C. is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bunny May of Jacksboro; siblings, Mark May and wife Paula of Chicago. Max May and wife Nancy of Dewey, Okla., Larry May and wife Jenell of Jacksboro, and Susan Rhodes and husband. Thomas of Jacksboro; children, Sandy Peevey and husband Scotty, grandchildren Mindy Forbus, Kayla Forbus, Michael Forbus, Katie Forbus and great grandson Riley Abernethy. Dusty Dunn, wife Monica, grandchildren Dominic Dunn, Damien Dunn and Dezmond Dunn. James May, wife Jaci, grandchildren James King, Melody May, Darla May, Amanda McCrary and Nicole Best. Earl “Bubba” May, grandchild Brandon May. Krystle McCleney, husband Rick, grandchildren Joseph Lang, Cierra Lang, Krystin Stell and great grandson Quintin Daigle as well as many other extended family members and loving friends.
J.C. enjoyed dove hunting with long time and devoted friend Danny Weddle. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Bunny, her parents Mauro and Dorothy Gibson and her siblings. They traveled to destinations such as Maui, Hawaii,Cozumel, Mexico, Branson, Mo. and the coast of California. J.C. will be fondly remembered for his stern exterior but tender heart, his green thumb and his love of coffee and puzzles.
A memorial service was held on 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Bible Baptist Church in Jacksboro.
