JHS VB 3rd in Bronze bracket

Thu, 08/16/2018 - 1:46 pm

BURKBURNETT – Jacksboro’s varsity volleyballers wound up third in the bronze bracket at the Boomtown Tournament last weekend.

Having two starters on the bench with injuries for most of the tournament hurt the squad as the Tigerettes never seemingly found their groove. Coach Tennessee Arey said not losing any of their games by more than six points was positive.

“We lost Morgyn Green the day before the tournament and Trinity (Tisdale) during the tournament. Those are our top two offensive players, so we lose them, we’ve lost a lot of our firepower,” Arey said. “Morgyn is a setter and also one of our outside hitters, so we lose her and Trinity we’ve lost a pair of our hitters, so it hurt.”

Arey said she was pleased with the way the girls bonded as the tournament progressed, a good sign in her mind as the season progresses.
