McCalay to take reins of Perrin girls hoop

Fri, 08/03/2018 - 1:30 pm

PERRIN – Tana McCaulay can best be described as a little bird ready to make a move out of the nest.

McCaulay, who spent her entire schooling and coaching life in Petrolia, jumped out of the nest recently to become the Head Girls BB Coach in Perrin. The 2009 Petrolia grad played nearly everything during her four years at PHS, including volleyball, basketball, and track. She decided to play tennis, and golf because of being a farm girl and still needing to get her chores done.

“I enjoy anything athletic and did all the sports I had time for,” McCaulay said. “I’m competitive and hope to bring that here.”

She wasn’t looking to make a move but was contacted through Region 9 Education Service Center, interviewed and said she felt comfortable here and “had a gut feeling” this would be a good move.
