Jacksboro games to be broadcast and streamed

Fri, 07/27/2018 - 1:20 pm

For the first time in many years, Jacksboro will have a radio home for athletics this school year.

KWKQ 94.7 FM out of Graham is expected to broadcast football games and other athletic events. The station, part of the High Plains Radio Network, began work on the game broadcast mindset earlier in the Spring.

“We were looking around for winning organizations and schools to designate our coverage for this Fall,” Chris Quinn, HPRN Regional Director explained during a luncheon July 19 for businesses. “We began meeting with businesses, coaches and community members on what we’d hope to accomplish and the support was solid.”

KWKQ has spotty reception in Jacksboro, depending on the part of town you’re in. Quinn said the focus is going to be on the streaming aspect of the games through Network1Sports.com, the largest internet sports streaming service in the country.
