Houser signs with Wayland Baptist

BRYSON – There are naysayers that say those high school players that play six-man football will never make it on the collegiate stage.

Brayden Houser hopes to prove them wrong.

Bryson’s three-year starter at quarterback and a two-time All-State selection signed a national letter of intent Thursday afternoon to play football at Wayland Baptist University, an NAIA school in Plainview in the Panhandle. Houser, the son of Bubba Houser and Misty Lewis, came to town with Coach Jason Briles, also in his third year with the Cowboys, and says he is ready.

“I went to their Spring workout back in March and things started happening from there,” Houser said. “I’m ready to go.”

Houser admits he has no family out there but says he is ready to become the new quarterback, which is why he’s going out there.
