JMS 8 girls 2nd in district track
BOYD – JMS’ 8th-grade girls track team closed its season on a strong note with a second-place finish at the District Zone Meet here.
The girls finished with 162 points. Coach Lisa Richardson was proud of her squad and their achievements.
“These young ladies did a great job at the district meet. We had a couple of district champions, and we had several individuals who had personal bests in their events, which led to them placing second as a team,” Richardson offered. “I appreciate the hard work, and desire to get better that this group has shown all year. It has been a joy to work with this group of young ladies this year. Their middle school careers have come to an end, and I wish them the best in their athletic endeavors in high school.”
Cadynce Duncan had a first place in the high jump with Shayli Mitchell doing the same in the pole vault.
